Incorporated in 1897, The Society of Arts and Crafts is the country's oldest nonprofit craft organization. The Society sponsors exhibitions, the Medal for Excellence, grants to Massachusetts craft artists, educational programming, documentary videos and MassCrafts, a guide to crafts in Massachusetts. The Society also promotes the work of more than 400 craft artists in galleries and on an ongoing basis.
