Are Native Americans Barred from the Markets for Their Works?
by Daniel Grant

Online Exclusive: Carolyn Lee Vehslage’s quilts are inspired by journeys with her husband on their sailboat, Fandango. Vehslage found a way to recapture the many views of land and sea she has taken in while sailing Fandango. In 1998, she left behind her career as a computer consultant and learned to quilt. She has even created an on-board studio where she does much of her quilting, and says most of her pieces have to be less than 24 inches because they must be easy to stow away should she be needed on deck. Find out more about Vehslage’s path to success.
