The Craft Organization Directors Association's (CODA) annual conference, to be held in Gatlinburg, Tenn., this spring, will bring together craft leaders from around the country, including craft school directors, board members from the Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF), craft organization administrators, and other interested craft professionals.
The two-day conference, titled "New Directions: A New Century of Art & Craft," will take place March 31-April 1 at Arrowmont School of Art & Craft.
Mark Leach, director of the Mint Museum of Craft + Design, will set the tone with his keynote address, entitled "Our challenge for the New Millennium: Enriching the Living History of Craft Heritage." The conference will be attended by representatives from the American Craft Council (ACC), Handmade in America, as well as representatives from many other national craft and economic development organizations.
Additional conference topics will include "Exhibition and Small Business Museum Networking"; "Building Audiences"; a professional management session for nonprofit craft organizations; and an update on "The CODA Survey: A National Economic Impact Survey of Craft."
