The Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) held its sixth Silent Auction at The Rosen Group's Philadelphia Buyers Market of American Craft, Feb. 12-16, raising over $16,000. More than 250 craftspeople exhibiting at the show donated work which was displayed in a space donated by The Rosen Group.
"Each year CERF's Silent Auction grows and becomes more popular," says Martha Giberson, CERF board member and Silent Auction organizer. "This year we attribute our success to the quantity and quality of the donated work and to our great location on the concourse where it was hard to miss us."
CERF is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that provides immediate support to craftspeople suffering career-threatening emergencies such as illness, fire, theft and natural disaster. CERF is the only organization of its kind in the United States.
