Janet Stanley Reid took her first rug hooking class 14 years ago
and immediately knew this was the medium for her. Always interested
in traditional styles and craft techniques, she worked in counted
cross-stitch, embroidery and quilting before she found rug hooking.
"After that first class, dare I say, I was hooked,"
she laughs. But her earlier work sometimes lends influence to
the rugs she creates today. "I like the geometrics of quilting
and the old, traditional style of counted cross stitch,"
she adds, "and that comes through in my rugs. My work is
very traditional, using traditional colors and designs."
Reid has been selling her work for 12 years, and teaching classes
in rug hooking for 10 years. Find out more HERE.
